VMware

Virtually, anything is possible

VMware was founded in 1998. This company is one of the subsidiaries of the large company EMC, which is the largest manufacturer of information storage equipment in the world. Since the beginning of its work, VMware has been operating exclusively in the specialized field of virtualization, and for this reason, it is considered the most powerful company in the field of virtualization in the world. The activities of this company in the field of software production can be generally divided into four parts: desktop or home virtualization software, server virtualization software, cloud computing virtualization software, and application virtualization software.

T-One Net is a provider of all virtualization services, especially in the context of VMware products.

Some of the products of this company are as follows:

VMware ESX/ESXi

In fact, VMware ESX software is considered a kind of operating system because during installation, it is installed directly on the hardware and does not need a host operating system or so-called Host, and is considered a Hostless software group. This product is used to implement server virtualization.

VMWare Horizon View

VMware Horizon View software is a commercial solution for virtualizing desktop computers. This software deals with the centralization or rather "central management of resources" in personal computers, like similar server virtualization software. This software integrates and secures desktop virtual machines using VMware vSphere infrastructure.

Among the features and capabilities of VMware View software, the following can be mentioned:

  • Reduction in costs through the use of thin clients in offices and remote areas instead of using traditional computer systems.
  • Increasing security by storing all information inside the data center and providing encrypted communication between the client and the virtual machine.
  • Installing and setting up desktop computers intelligently or not
  • The View Composer feature, which uses VMware Clone technology, enables you to share a cloned instance of a machine with a group of desktop virtual machines and save storage space.
  • Since desktop virtual machines created by VMware View software are stored in the data center, you can take advantage of VMware vSphere software features such as VMware HA, VMotion and VMware DRS to ensure access and load sharing in the data center.
  • Reduction in energy purchase costs by using energy-efficient minicomputers
  • Integrating client access to other software (through terminal servers, physical desktop computers, blade desktop computers) using Remote Communication Protocol (RDP), which is a standard protocol.
  • The possibility of synchronizing and checking the system with the main virtual machine image (Master) for desktop virtual machines that are offline

VMware Virtual SAN

The implementation of High Availability and Fault Tolerance solutions, which provide access when software or hardware problems occur, requires the use of a network storage device or a shared storage network. Setting up and configuring these devices in the past was very expensive, mostly by purchasing NAS and SAN storage devices, and not cost-effective in small environments (less than 5 host servers with a small storage load). These devices, specially designed for professional information processing and storage, by connecting to different virtual hosts, provide the possibility of reading and writing information for the hosts simultaneously.

In recent years, with the introduction of storage virtualization software (Virtual SAN), it has been possible to share common storage space among virtual hosts using storage disks connected to hosts.
